Halloween playlist FAQ
What is the best Halloween playlist to start with?
It depends on the moment. For a party start with Costume Party, for trick-or-treaters play Candy Bowl, for a haunted house use Haunted Walkthrough, and for a quiet night in try Candlelit Night In. Not sure? Press the “right now” button on the home page and it picks the playlist that fits your local time.
Is this Halloween playlist free?
Yes. Every playlist streams free with no sign-up and no ads, and every track has a free MP3 download. The music is by Purrple Cat and licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0).
Is there a Halloween playlist for trick-or-treaters and kids?
Yes. Candy Bowl (the Trick-or-Treat Playlist) is playful and family-friendly, with skeleton dances, carousel tunes and no jump scares. It loops automatically, so you can leave a speaker on the porch.
How long are the playlists?
The eight situation playlists run between 37 minutes and about an hour. For longer listening there are 1-hour, 2-hour, 3-hour and all-night mixes (about 6½ hours), and every playlist can loop.
What is party mode?
A big-screen now-playing view for parties: huge cover art and track title, a progress bar, what’s coming up next and a clock. Open it on a TV or laptop, press F for full screen and the screen stays awake while the music plays.
Can I use this music in my Halloween videos and livestreams?
Yes, with credit. Use it on YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Twitch and all social media, in videos, streams and games. Add the credit “Music by Purrple Cat”.
Will my videos get Content ID claims?
No. The music is not registered with Content ID, so your videos, streams and VODs won’t be claimed for it.
Can I upload the music to Spotify or Apple Music?
No. Please don’t upload the music to music streaming services such as Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, Deezer or Tidal. That includes remixes, samples and covers of it.
Can I listen offline or use these playlists in another player?
Yes. Download any track as an MP3, or save a whole playlist as an M3U8 file and open it in VLC or any media player.
Who makes the music?
Purrple Cat, an independent lofi project since 2018 with 500+ songs. Every track here is an original instrumental.
Why a run of show?
Most Halloween playlists are one long list. This one is organised by what you’re actually doing: eight situations, laid out along a night from 3 PM to 3 AM, with long mixes that follow the same arc. Pick a moment, press play, and the right music is already there.
